Sheer Cover Review

The very first day I used the Sheer Cover Duo Concealer, I just used the lighter side. Did it match my skin tone? Nope too light. What to do...what to do? Ah! Mix the two together! 

Sheer Cover has this duo concealer in four different shades. I have the duo concealer in the shade medium/tan, and since the product didn't really have instructions on it, I wasn't exactly sure how to use the product. I had to look up how to apply concealer and read a few of other people's blog to get a sense of how others apply concealer. 


After seeing another makeup guru taking a bit of the lighter color and mixing it with the darker color and then using this combined shade to cover up dark circles, blemishes, redness and age spots; I decided to give this method a try. And this mixture color is just so perfect! It matched my skin tone a lot better and it doesn't look like I'm wearing concealer at all. All my imperfections became beautifully covered and I didn't have to worry about people staring at this emerging pimple on my face.


To apply this Sheer Cover Duo concealer, I like to go ahead and just use my clean fingers to apply it; if you like, you can always use a concealer brush or cosmetic sponge to dab a small amount of concealer to the area that you want a bit of extra coverage. Be sure to blend really well, starting sheer but increasing coverage by adding extra layers of concealer. After moisturizing my face, I usually apply about two to three layers of concealer. This Sheer Cover Duo Concealer can be worn alone, under or over makeup, but just make sure it dries before applying more makeup on top it. Lastly, I like to set the concealer with a bit of powder.

Dr. Scholl's For Her Ball of Foot Cushions Review

     By far, one of my favorite products is this new & improved Dr. Scholl's For Her Ball of Foot Cushions that helps prevent ball of foot pain. 


This is the only ball of foot product that is made with unique FabuSTEP gel that helps to 

• prevent toe scrunch 
• stays in place

to truly provide your feet with a sense of comfort that's absolutely and unbelievably amazing! 

I walked half an hour in these shoes to campus and then walked in them all day and barely felt any pain until near the end of the day. Never had I ever been able to do this in these heels without this Dr. Scholl's For Her Ball of Foot cushions. I really wouldn't have been to last any longer than a five minutes walk if it wasn't for these wonderful amazing inserts that left my feet pain-free and not sore at all!

I must say, the trickest part was trying to place the inserts onto my heels properly and to be able to find the most comfortable ball of my foot to place the cushion under. (Tip: Be sure to peel off the plastic covering on the cushion before placing it on your own pair of heels.) And if you accidentally place it off center of where your ball of foot is (like I did a couple of times), go ahead and peel it off and re-align it until it feels most comfortable. Trust me, I took a good three or so tries to find this ideal location.

Overall, this Dr. Scholl's For Her Ball of Foot cushions help prevent that burn feeling and provides immediate massaging gel comfort for the ball of my feet. These cushions can definitely fit any pair of heels or any other type of shoes that might need a bit of extra comfort. I noticed that it did stay firmly in place throughout the day (no need to re-adjust once I found a comfortable spot to place the gel  cushions on my heels as shown in the picture to the left). I was also able to remove it easily without any damage to my heels. So ideally I would be able to take them off and place them on any other pair that I desire, but these are so worth it, I might just go ahead and buy extras so that every pair can have their own Dr. Scholl's For Her Ball of Foot cushions!

Aveeno® Body Wash

So I got to use this Aveeno Daily Moisturizing body wash for quite a while now and I'm really liking how smooth and visbly healthier my skin looks!

The very first time I squeezed out this silvery with almost a glisten and transparent quality to it that actually made this body wash quite pretty! Although it did lower my expectations a bit when I realized that the body wash doesn't have an exfoliating component but that's okay.

I usually squeeze a good amount onto my hands and rub a little bit before applying it over the rest of my body. I'm actually really surprised at the lather, it's so rich and creamy and I absolutely love it! Therefore, I don't have to pour out a gallon in order to get a nice, bubbly fun and therefore this daily moisturizing body wash can last me quite a long while. 

Now on to a tip for those of you who may know this, I actually realized this earlier with another body wash, but did you know you can use this Aveeno® Body Wash and use it as a shave aid! Right? I didn't know it either and decided to go ahead and give this new function a try and it worked out relatively well for my legs. Applying this rich shaving lotion using my hands did indeed leave me with silky, smooth legs. 

Overall, I really do like Aveeno products and have been using the daily moisturizer for quite a while now and love their lotions as well. I'm really happy to find another product of Aveeno to love!

I had been wanting to use these Sally Hansen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips since I got them late last month. So here I am, finally ready to do my nails on a Sunday afternoon, after I finished doing laundry and dishes, I decided to give myself a treat and give my nails a manicure!

I started off with clean, nail-polish free nails (after washing my hands and using nail-polish remover to remove any remaining nail polish). I also cut my nails using a nail clipper before getting started.

The three things provided in the kit includes a cuticle stick, a mini file & buffer, and of course 16 nail polish strips that are meant to fit all nails. I went ahead and opened everything and laid them out on the desk. Then, I proceeded to pick the 10 strips that I felt fit best with each finger and put the remaining 6 strips to the side.

I went ahead and followed the instructions that's included in the kit, to first peel off the clear plastic that's on top of each strip and then breaking the silver tab on the bottom from the strip. If you forget to remove the clear plastic with the words "peel off" in blue on the bottom, you'll realize that you'll have a very hard time filing away the strip (which is what happened when I forgot to peel off the clear plastic). Luckily, I found the clear plastic and peeled it off, but just try not to skip this step each time and you should be fine.

So after peeling off that original clear plastic, I had to go ahead and peel the nail strip itself and put it on my nails. So keep in mind, each nail strip has three layers, the clear plastic on top that you have to peel off and throw away, the second layer is the nail strip itself and that's the one you keep. The bottom is just a white layer that you throw away as well. So I'm left working with only using the middle layer that has the design.

A few of my nails had a bit of overlap within the strip, when I was on the last step trying to shape away the excess strip. This occurs when I fold the excess strip. To avoid it, when you try to shape away that excess, keep it as straight as possible. Remember to use the pink side of the file to shape away the excess.

I really like the fact that right after I finish applying these nail strips, I don't have to worry about smudging and can go straight to my next task. That means I could've totally done my nails first and then go do laundry and dishes! These nail strips are meant to last 10 days (I'll have to update on how long these last for me) and removes easily with nail polish remover. So what you waiting for?             I've always been a HUGE Bath & Body Works fan. The minute I walk into the store, I can't leave without picking up a few of my favorite lotions, hand sanitizers and more. Why? Simply because their products smell so darn good! I just want to try everything that's there and they're always coming out with new scent, so what's my new recent favorite?

            The scent, "Paris Amour" fine fragrance mist as a part of their new Signature Collection from Bath & Body Works. It's available in stores and on line for $14, and there's a promotion of Buy 3, Get 3 Free (of course, you don't have to buy 3 of the same fragrances, you buy any three products from any of the Bath & Body Works  Signature Collection, so that includes lotions and whatever your favorite products are!). There's a variety of Paris Amour scent products available here. You see the Eiffel Tower is actually on the back, but you see how this forward picture can see it from the front, how cool is that?!

           Paris Amour is as the official website puts it "from Paris with love! This Romantic scent is a bubbly blend of white tulips and pink champagne." Look at that, you're spraying pink champagne on yourself! In all seriousness, the scent is very romantic and gives any girl the flirty age to go out on a date with her boyfriend or just to hang with a bunch of friends on a Saturday evening. It's a fine fragrance mist, so it's not overly strong and smells floral white tulips. I like to spray it on just before I leave the house and it lasts for a decent amount of time. I would really recommend taking the time to stop by a store and smell this beautiful aroma for yourself and decide whether you personally like it or not.
